The Agronomist advises our grower-members on fertility, seed, and crop protection across dryland and irrigated small grains, pulses, and forage, balancing sound agronomy with what actually pencils for the farm. This is a boots-in-the-field position: you'll build the recommendations and then walk the crops that prove them out. You'll scout fields, pull soil samples, coordinate with our custom application team, and keep every recommendation on-label and make sure every grower you work with is set up for a profitable season.

What you'll do?

  • Build fertility, seed, and crop protection recommendations for dryland and irrigated small grains, pulse crops, and forage, grounded in what actually pencils for the grower.

  • Coordinate product sales and delivery with our agronomy and custom application teams.
  • Keep every recommendation on-label and compliant with Montana Department of Agriculture requirements.
  • Be a familiar face — at the counter, in the field, and at grower meetings. Our co-op runs on relationships.

What you'll bring?

  • Degree in agronomy, plant science, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) credential, or the drive to earn it, we'll support you getting there.
  • Montana commercial applicator/dealer license, or the ability to obtain one after hire.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
  • Willingness to work the hours the season demands and enjoy the slower months that follow.
